Is seems there is either:

No data in your data stream - I have spend ages looking for fault in Minitioune when the fault was the TX

or

VLC has the same issues with its codecs also not working.

I am assuming you have set auto PID. Perhaps you can find somewhere to dump a few seconds of data so others can look at it. Try 1MS or less to keep the file size down.

Also, make sure you have done the codec stuff in the Wiki.

And just in case - make sure you are using a good USB cable. A bad one will give unreliable results.

Hello Mike
I appreciate your interest and suggestions in my problem.
I have been slow to answer to do more checks.
Apart from that in the VLC does not appear any image, I have also checked the web monitor and the transmission does not appear either.
I attach several screen shots in case you can deduce what happens.
I have 4 or 5 USB cables, I have tried them all, and always with the same result.
I have another computer with the Toutioune S2 3200 with the Tecnoctrend card and it gives me a perfect image, so I guess the TX works correctly ..

The truth, I do not know what else to do.
Just wish you could think of something to get out of the problem.

A fact that I forgot

If I connect the "AutoPid", after a few seconds it automatically disconnects and goes to "PID from INI",

It looks like you have a faulty tuner - we have had 2 faulty units from over 400 sold with similar no TS data problem.

Please send me a PM to chair @ batc.tv and I will arrange to send you a replacement - I will also send you a new PCB as well unless you used NIM sockets.

Hello Noel
Are you sure?
Truly something strange I was afraid of. The effects that it presented: without error messages, and with all the perfect tests, and with all the attempts made in two computers, in different conditions and different platforms, with the same results, it made me think like I said in previous posts, "Here There is something else "....

Actually, I regret being the third case of a Nim with this failure.

The FTS4334 is soldered on the board, I can try to remove it, but it can be difficult without damaging the PCB.

I greatly appreciate the support of Batc and his organization. This is a very important point for all members and those who hesitate to subscribe.

Thanks Noel, I will follow your instructions

Happy New Year

I posted a long and detailed reply to this but it seems to have disappeared? Now found by the Admins:

Before you try to remove the tuner (don't, its easier to use a second PCB, but if you do there is an easy way involving a hot plate) there are a few things to look at before the replacement arrives. No need to do this of course unless you are interested in finding out what's going wrong.

While Noel is probably correct about the tuner, there are other possibilities. E.g. if the CMOS chip is faulty (it gates the TS data valid signals) it might be corrupting the data. Maybe a PCB via on one of the data lines is faulty or something else e.g. two data lines got shorted together. Did you see any data on the 8 TS pins of the NIM? Is there continuity on the data lines. There is a schematic here https://wiki.batc.org.uk/images/6/6d/SERIF.pdf

You are clearly receiving a transport stream - it might be corrupted but I can see some data is arriving. Is that the saved TS file? Does it not play in VLC? Can you look at it with Notepad+ and see real data or just all zeros. My data doesn't look anything like that, its binary data. What is confusing me is there seems to be a valid PID received.

Ah well. I will try and summarise.

Before you try to remove the NIM (if you do use a hotplate - its not that hard if you are careful) as its going to take a few days for the replacement parts to arrive given its new year, I suggest looking to see if there is TS data on the TS lines. Also check the data 8 TS lines are all OK and specifically the 74HC10 IC which gates the TS data into the tuner. Perhaps a via is not connected (PCB fault) or shorted together (maybe not fully etched or very unlikely a soldering problem).

https://wiki.batc.org.uk/images/6/6d/SERIF.pdf

I am puzzled you are getting PID data but no image data. My TS file is binary, not ASCII like you have posted, which is also unexpected.

Hello,

A friend off mine had the same problem with his Minituone.
Always NO VIDEO on the screen.
After very long searching the problem was solved.
There are tree resistors 3k3 on the board,he had 2k7 mounted.
He has no the good reistors at that moment.
After replacing, the problem was solved.
Meaby this is some hint in the good direction.

Hello everyone
I hope you had a very happy new year.
I am recovering from parties, lunches, dinners ... hard days, which has prevented me from continuing my research with the Minitiouner.
Mike: I think your deductions and recommendations for performing on the board are very accurate, although I was already trying to follow the signal path with the oscilloscope, but ignoring the circuit and with few technical indications, I found it difficult to determine possible failures.
My only tools were the tests that the System incorporates, and what seems strange is that in these tests there is no one with the circuit in operation and a DATV signal at the input of the tuner, which identifies a valid TS, since all the other controls indicate correct operation.
Today I will dedicate myself to follow the steps that you suggest to me, to determine if really the failure can be due to other causes and not to the tuner.
I will tell you the results.

OK Jaap, I have 3k3 resistances and I have checked them, in fact the circuit has been verified many times, as you can imagine.

Again. thanks for your support.
