OLED Display for Minitiouner V2 with FTS4334L
The tuner must be a Serit FTS4334L tuner.
1) Download the software Minitiouner V0.7B
http://www.vivadatv.org/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=450
2) Download the "FT2232H master MinitiounerPro.zip" and unzip it
3) use FTprog to reprogram the FT2232H with the file "FT2232H master MinitiounerPro.xml"
4) Use an OLED 1.3" I2C 128x64
5) Connect the OLED GND to GND, SCL to SCL, SDA to SDA, VCC OLED to the 4V.
6) in the minitioune.ini file, change "OLED=no" to "OLED=yes"
Run Minitiouner V 0.7b
Have fun

Excellent.
The signals are mostly on J7. The 4V supply is on J2. I expect you could also use 3.3V for the OLED supply which is available on J5. THere should be more than enough space on the unused panel of the standard box.
Meanwhile - where did I leave those OLEDs?
Mike
PS - Turns out mine are TFTs. OLED on order.

Re: OLED Display for Minitiouner V2 with FTS4334L
I am just gathering the parts to make a Minitiouner V2.
I wonder if the Digikey part number is known for the OLED display?
Also w.r.t the FT223H USB Module this is currently out of stock with the club till Monday or Kempton Rally this Sunday .
Will the new stocked modules be programmed with the new data to drive the display?
TIA

Hello,
I am working on the future extension card for the MiniTiouner V2.
The solution that Alain has described must be used just for test.
If you program your FT2232H with the name "MiniTiouner_Pro_TS2" there will be some issues with some part of hardware that doesn't exist and Minitioune will crash in some condition.
The next version MinitiouneV0.7c is already set to accept the name "MiniTiouner" for a MiniTiouner V2 expanded.
So, you can test if you want using the name "MiniTiouner_Pro_TS2", but just for a time. If you keep this name using a MiniTiouner not Pro, there will be some problems with the future version of Minitioune and I will have difficulties to distinguish which hardware is exactly plugged.
The software use this name for knowing if you have:
a MiniTiouner V1 or V2 ==> name is "USB <-> NIM tuner"
a MiniTiouner V1 or V2 with hardware extension ==> name must be "MiniTiouner"
a MiniTiounerPro ==> name must be "MiniTiounerPro_TS2" for the master FT2232H and name must be "MiniTiounerPro_TS1" for the aux FT2232H
Minitioune must know what you are using and you must apply the good name for the hardware it corresponds.

The modules to be sold at Kempton and in the BATC online members' shop will be programmed with the original software. They are easy to reprogram if you want to experiment.

Hi Jean Pierre,
May I suggest to make the same explanation on your site regarding the potential issues with the new Minitioune version.

Re: OLED Display for Minitiouner V2 with FTS4334L
My OLED arrived today. Looks identical but does not work. Any ideas what I am doing wrong here? I followed the instructions as far as I can tell.
Mike
PS = it does work. I had not correctly reprogrammed the FTDI module - it being so long since I had done it I was simply re-applying its existing template and not the new one.

I have one of these modules spare from another project, but reading above I'm unclear what I need to programme (version, source etc) into what exactly? I'm assuming its the USB interface card, which I bought ready-programmed from the BATC shop. Perhaps I'll just get it all working first.....

I would not recommend you try this yet unless you really know what you are doing. You need to re-program the FTDI USB module with FT-PROG and this fools the latest version of Minitioune 0.7b that you have a Minitiouner pro. There are instructions above, but this hack may have unexpected side effects and is not likely to work with the next software version that JP is working on, which should support the OLED directly.radiogareth wrote:I have one of these modules spare from another project, but reading above I'm unclear what I need to programme (version, source etc) into what exactly?
