Ordering from Digikey

Post by Nick » Tue Aug 08, 2017 10:09 pm

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if any duties, etc, are payable on any order received from Digikey ?

I have a large order ready to send to Digikey for MiniTioune and Portsdown components but can't work out if I will have to make any payment when the items arrive. The website mentions it is DDP (delivered duty paid) but I think this may only apply to business users.

Has anyone had to pay any duties and/or VAT on delivery ?

Regards,

Hi Nick

I've never had any such problems. In fact, I've been really impressed with DigiKey's service. My Portsdown bits came from there promptly with no extra payments required.

When you complete the order the VAT is added by Digikey and paid by them.
There will be no further charges. Just make sure you order via their 'UK' site.

Hi

I placed my order and all was well until it went out for delivery and UPS delivered it to somewhere in Leeds some 80 miles away - it is still being looked for

I contacted Digikey customer service and within an hour a replacement order was sent out.

From it being sent out to me receiving it was 1 day 6 hours and 54 minutes - now that's fast :o - even better than orders from this country with some couriers who are best not used.

Excellent service from Digikey - well pleased :D

I received my parts for the MiniTiouner from Digikey this morning. Nothing to pay and an order from Farnell made at the same time arrived in the same post. Having the Digikey code numbers is really useful.

Yes, having not used them before, and being a bit worried about customs etc, the service was very efficient.
