Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Asda (and probably most other big supermarkets) also sell OTG cables - about £4 if I remember correctly - in the section where the phone charger leads etc are...
Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Hello,
I have just bought a CHEWI Hi10 Plus (145 euro new - from France) and I have tested it using Minitiounev0.7
All tests have been a success and Minitioune runs well on it.
CPU power needed:
- about 75% receiving MPEG2_SR4000 or SR333_H264
- about 84% receiving a Broadcast station SR22000_Mpeg2
- 100% receiving a broadcast station with H264 HD but seems always fluid 73

Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
I have a Viglen Connect 8 tablet and whilst it will run MiniTiouner very happily using the supplied micro USB to standard socket cable it is not otg compatible which means you cannot charge it whilst using the USB socket for other purposes....

Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Just for info, I have now managed to get the MiniTiouner s/w running on my Linx 10" tablet (under Win 8.1) - which is OTG compatible (separate - but very vulnerable) dc input jack for charging.
I'm not sure whether the later (Linx 10?) tablet - the one that /is/ 'upgradeable' to (or comes configured with ) Win 10 - is the same arrangement, but mine (won't 'upgrade' to Win 10) seems fine. Not sure how it will cope if other stuff is trying to run, too - I haven't go that far, yet, but it was only just over £100 and apart from an annoying habit of shutting down if left 'switched off' and charging, it seems OK for my purposes.

Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Following my post on 1/12/17 and the helpful replies for which I thank those involved, I am pleased to say that the cheepo tablet I bought at the National Hamfest appears to be working with minitioune
I couldn't find a way to change the frequency but with the default setting 1255Mhz I got a lock on my Portsdown signal with good constellation. At the moment I cant get a picture and a message to say there was no H 246 decoder. I need to get my head round the tablet operating system but things look promising
More later.

Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Hi John
You can get a keyboard up on the touchscreen by doing a long touch (=right-click) on the taskbar, and then ticking "Show touch keyboard button".
This will put a button in your taskbar and when clicking it you will get a keyboard as shown below. To get the full keyboard with numbers easily available that I use, for some reason you need to select English(US), not English(British) as the keyboard language. This was a bug introduced by the latest Windows 10 update.
So, you can then adjust the MiniTioune settings.

Re: Minimum computer spec for Minitioune
Hi Noel
Many thaks for that helpful information. I will let you knoe how I get on.
In the meantime I have ordered a book on Windows for tablets to try and get myself up to speed. I could take the receiver over to my son G7OKE who I am sure would sort things out easily, but I am snowed in at the moment.
