This may help somebody constructing... with reference to https://wiki.batc.tv/images/b/b4/Notes_ ... iouner.pdf Figure 4 - Panel layout. The clearance hole diameter for the two 'F' sockets needs to be a minimum of 10.2 mm I suggest. If panel allignment puts strain on the Tuner sockets, the hole diameter could be increased upto 11.00mm or slightly more as required, especially if packing (M10 nylon washers>)and securing nuts (3/8UNF locking half-nuts + plain washers) are fitted either side of the panel.

Oops. I think I copied in the old schematic from V2 - that's not the only error. I might think about fixing it.

I know Mike's already posted some of these, but, FWIW, some Farnell codes, should they be of use:

Today I received my parts for the Minitiouner and first of all, a big thank you to all persons involved for such a great kit! From the designers, to the BATC shop to Mike for the building notes!

I hate to be nitpicky on my first post, but is it possible that the panel layout in the building notes (Figure 4) are missing at least one dimension, which is the vertical position of the USB cutout? I think this needs to be 24mm from the lower edge.. was this omitted on purpose?

The NIM module F connectors need a 10.5-11mm diameter, as already stated in another post.

Can't wait to get it all up and running..

Glad you have all the parts. I hope your case is the correct colour as it won't work otherwise.

That dimension is a variable depending on the socket you use, so yes its not there on purpose. The image is to scale based on the particular socket I had, the one in the parts list. It was made by photocopying the panel I had drilled by eye and measuring it. The USB module sockets come in various heights, depending where you get them and you don't even have to use a socket. Some people have had trouble with them not making good contacts. For reliability it might be better to solder the module directly to the PCB, but of course that would make it hard to remove.

The F-type threads are for clearance 3/8-32 UNEF so 10 mm would be OK.

Thanks Mike for the clarification, I eyeballed the cutout and it fits now nicely. Next step is tinkering with the software..
