Windows Update: DON'T!

Hi

Following today's Windows update (on 64-bit PCs) both Noel and I have lost the use of MiniTioune. The software crashes on start-up. We have informed Jean-Pierre.

We haven't tested 32-bit Windows, as we want to retain the use of MiniTioune on our laptops.

So, until someone finds a fix, it might be worth disabling Windows Update on your MiniTioune PC.

Hi All,

I confirm that Minitoune also crashes under Win10 32bits after last Win10 update (yesterday for me)
I tested the three last versions of Minitioune (V0.6d / V0.5a / V0.4c)
I have also the crash under Win10 64bits
Sure that I will not upgrade my third laptop and the PIPO !
Waiting for a solution
Some (unwanted) work Jean-Pierre ! Courage ! (don't miss our meeting on 25th for that !)

I got my Minitioune back to life by doing a Windows restoration of the PC state before the update. Nb : Microsoft does not allow the uninstallation of just the faulty KB4013418
Microsoft has recognized "some users problems" after the update...

I have also found that Vmix record crashes - apparently it affects any s/w running graphs.

However - GOOD NEWS - I was just forced in to doing the update on my laptop and both Minitiouner and Vmix record still work :-)

Maybe MS did listen and make some changes....

Back to testing Portsdown boards :-)

I have found a way to fix PCs that have already been updated and will not currently run MiniTioune. The website that describes the fix is https://www.codecguide.com and I used their Solution #5.

I downloaded the file http://files2.codecguide.com/comppkgsup_fix.exe and ran it. It said that it had replaced the offending dll with the previous version. After this, MiniTioune worked without crashing.

Not sure how this will work with future windows updates, but at least I have a receiver again!

Hi all just to report that all though my laptop done the update my system carried on working ? only thing I get is the French error if I change from non expert to expert mode. So not sure if there may be more than one version of the update out there ?
