PicoTuner now supports Pico 2.

The PicoTuner firmware has been updated to V0.12 which now supports both the original Raspberry Pi Pico and the new Pico 2 modules.

There are no functional changes so there is no need to update your PicoTuner if it is already working.

The released .uf2 file for V0.12 is a special combined file that supports both types of board. The correct version will automatically be loaded when you drag and drop the file onto the Pico or Pico 2.

If you are building your own firmware using the Arduino IDE you will need to make sure you have updated to the latest libraries and board definitions. You must also select the correct board type before building. Whilst the Pico 2 is functionally compatible with the Pico it is not binary compatible, so it needs to be separately built.

I don't expect any overall performance improvement by moving to the Pico 2. It does run at a higher clock rate (and can be significantly overclocked if needed) but the USB interface remains at the old 12 Mbps speed which is the limiting factor in this application.
