Portsdown 4 problem

Post by galvinfreeman » Sun Apr 20, 2025 2:05 pm

Hello,

I have a problem with the Portsdown 4. On the Adalm Pluto I have version 031-4-g9ceb-dirty and Firmware 2101RC installed.
However when using the Portsdown it keeps telling me that I need to upgrade to version 0.31...
The Pluto is connected to the Portsdown, but it does not work.
Can someone help me what I'm doing wrong?

Best regards,

You don't say which version of the Pluto you have ?

Here is a link to the wiki https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Portsdown_4_Pluto - if you are using this you need to configure via the web interface as explained. However, if you have a more recent Pluto I am not sure if this works or not. The Wiki says:

Note that the more recent Revision C (outside label) (marked as Revision D on the PCB) Plutos need an extra environment variable setting for the frequency extension. In addition to the other commands, at the command line of the Pluto enter

fw_setenv compatible ad9364

Though I doubt that is your problem. It also says

You can check that you have the correct Firmware loaded from the "Pluto Configuration Menu" (reached from Menu 3). It should report Firmware version v0.31-4-g9ceb-dirty.

The Wiki also has advice https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Portsdown_4_Pluto - in case there is a power issue.

If nothing is working, no 1 suspect is the USB cable.
