The major bugfix corrects a problem which was caused by Analog Devices updating one of their software utilities (libiio) on 22 Audust 2023. New Portsdown builds made since then have not been able to use the Pluto for transmit or BandViewer.
The new features are mainly concerned with the introduction of the MeteorViewer capability, but introduce techniques that will be re-used to enable BandViewer to use the SDRPlay series of SDRs, and also to allow waterfall displays in BandViewer. The full list of new features include:
- Portsdown 4 SD Cards can be built on systems without a touchscreen, and if no touchscreen is detected web control is enabled.
- The Signal Generator Main Menu has been tidied up, and the signal generator can be controlled from a web browser (with or without a touchscreen).
- The system can be set to boot to Portsdown, Langstone, BandViewer or MeteorViewer.
- The new MeteorViewer capability can be set to display the waterfall locally or to send the IQ data to the central server (currently at http://95.154.252.125:7682/). Please do not send data to this server without prior coordination with G4NNS.
- MeteorViewer can be controlled from a web browser without a touchscreen.
Please report any new bugs here.
