Does the pluto PD4 work 4ms symbol rate to use on 23cm repeaters?

I have just tested a Portsdown 4 with a USB-connected Pluto, and it will not transmit 4MS H264 FEC 1/2 DVB-S2. It was designed for much narrower signals.

However, to my surprise, it does work with 4MS H264 FEC 1/2 DVB-S. So you should be OK as long as the repeater accepts H264 video.

Thanks Dave,
The repeater I want to try is GB3UD, how do I check if it accepts it or is it just a case of try?

Someone on the FB group mentioned a modulator board for the PD but not sure what that does.

Cheers

Adrian

Just try!

The Portsdown 2020 would use a Filter-modulator board together with an ADF4351-based local oscialltor to generate 4MS DVB-S signals before the software to drive SDRs such as the Lime and Pluto was widely available. However, you clearly have a Portsdown 4 which is not compatible with the Filter-modulator board.
