Portsdown 4 / Langstone Rx selection
Re: Portsdown 4 / Langstone Rx selection
Colin, thanks very much for this information. I had naively thought, on the basis of the "List of GPIO Connections" that no action was required to set up the pin. I will experiment with the menu settings tomorrow to find the best solution for me and I shall report back here so that others can see the outcome. Thanks again! Russ.
Re: Portsdown 4 / Langstone Rx selection
Hi Colin, I'm afraid that did not help me. In Langstone Rx mode (145MHz), I pressed SET and then scrolled through the menu until I got to "Band Bits (Rx) = 00000001". I changed that to 00000111. That did not put a voltage on GPIO breakout D7. What it did was to change the 8 band decode LED to position 7. I wonder if you are able to assist me, please? Thanks, Russ.

Hi Russ
As I understand it, you'll need to set the Band Bits to 10000001. It's that first (most significant) digit that is D7.

Re: Portsdown 4 / Langstone Rx selection
Dave is correct, the left hand bit is bit 7.
The 8 band decode board will respond to the right hand three bits.
So 10000001 will decode as band 1 with bit 7 high.

Re: Portsdown 4 / Langstone Rx selection
Dave & Colin, HOORAY! Thanks chaps, it works now. I was beginning to think I had fried the pin. As you will have gathered, I was entering binary 7 instead of setting bit 7. Oh well, all's well that ends well. Best wishes, Russ.
