With amazement I noticed that the 7" monitor for Raspbarry is a glossy screen type!?
Why didn't we think of making a monitor with an opaque anti-reflection screen?...
Whereas the use of Portsdown is ideal for outdoor use (on the move).

Quite simple - the Raspberry Pi 7 inch screen has widespread and guaranteed availability. It does not change specification over time (like Chinese copies) and is reliable.

I have used it extensively on Portable operations and not had significant problems - it is brighter than most.

Dave, thanks for the reply, but I honestly disagree with what you're saying.
Look at this image, you can clearly see the reflection on the screen of the operator who is filming with his cell phone, it almost looks like a mirror!!
Unfortunately I can not upload image, you can see it from this link: https://i.imgur.com/l9G1FDQ.png

Hi

Yes, there are reflections, but Apple, Samsung and other phone manufacturers have made similar choices for their phone touchscreens.

If you can find a compatible touchscreen with an anti-reflection screen, there is no reason why you should not use it. To work with the existing software, it should be 800x480 pixels, and use the DSI interface for both display and touch signalling. Other screen sizes would need months of software re-writing.

For screenshots, you can use the "snap" function; touch the bottom left of the screen during receive, and a perfect still image will be saved to the home/pi/snaps folder.

Nothing is perfect - this was one of those design decisions that is at the core of the project, and will not be changed soon.

Dave,
Thank you for your answer.
The problem is just that, finding a touchscreen compatible with an anti-glare screen at the moment I don't think is available (unless denied).

Why not get a matt screen protector - e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/anti-glare-scr ... +protector
It doesn't require any coding,
