I have the opportunity to buy a Lime SDR. (The big brother.) From what I have read, It seems as if it will work with the Portsdown in place of the mini but I would really like to be sure. I would appeciate you help.

Mine worked fine until part of its PSU circuit 'expired'.

Hi Mike
Yes, the LimeSDR USB does work with the Portsdown.
I have tried to make all the facilities that normally work with a LimeSDR Mini compatible with the Lime USB, but there are things like LimeDVB mode that won't work because the (3rd party) firmware does not exist.
Let me know if you run into any specific issues.

The LimeNetMicro also works, should you come across one. Maybe we need a truth table in the Wiki.

Very many thanks for your replies and I shall go ahead with the purchase. I am looking forward to comparing it with the Pluto.

Hi Mike,
They get very hot so I suggest a small fan blowing air over the PCB. There was an affordable case available, I am not sure it still is.

This is basically two PCBs front and back and a cheap metal clam shell enclosure with a hole for a fan.
