Castomized 4-band output switch for Portsdown 4.

Post by IZ7PDX » Wed Aug 31, 2022 3:04 pm

More and more fascinated by Portsdown 4 I try to find castom solutions to meet the operational needs of the DATV.
Although BATC has studied excellent quality products, I wanted to create from scratch and with easily available material an automatic band selector that interacts with the Raspi4 and with the settings of the M3 menu of Portsdown 4.
This is possible because Portsdown 4 allows you to create a simple band switch using 4 Raspberry GPIO pins without having to program any external decoder simply using the binary codes 0001 0100 0010 0001 corresponding to pins 7, 22, 32, 35 and to the decimal codes 4, 8, 1, 2 programmable from the M3 “Set Band Details” menu.
It works very well and uses a 6-exchange physical relay which supports good RF power. The module can also be used for PTT and it is possible to integrate a programmable sequencer. I am making a second more compact and economical version. I hope it will be useful to someone.
I apologize if the dialogue is in Italian and I invite you to activate the subtitles in your language. I am available if you need more information.
