PD4 and Lime RFE question to GKQ
Hi Dave
waiting delivery of a lime RFE. (NEXT MONTH DELIVERY)
Ive installed your DEV version to take a look at how it is implemented in the menus
I see on menu 3 lime config that Mode RX and TX can be selected. Functions here look clear enough.
Must the appropriate one be selected each time you TX or RX .
Or does this selection change automatically once the RFE is enabled
When selecting TX or RX from main menu?
Been hoping that Langstone and PD4 would get the RFE functionality for some time. Thanks Colin / Dave for this

Hi Terry,
Dave will no doubt confirm but the RFE Tx/RX switching is handled automatically when you go to Tx or Rx.
The menu selection is to determine if you want to use the combined Tx/Rx port of the RFE (connected to an antenna) or the separate Tx and Rx ports (additional PA and/or Preamp)

Hi Terry
The LimeRFE is automatically switched between RX and TX in both Portsdown and Langstone.
The option to manually select TX or RX on the LimeRFE from the Lime Config Menu is only there to make testing the transmitter side easier if using a different driver.
The option to select between the TX port and TX/RX port for output is only available within the "Set Band Details" dialogue which is entered from Menu 3. I would have put it on the Lime Config Menu, but I had run out of buttons!
I'll write some documentation before formal release.....

Re: PD4 and Lime RFE question to GKQ
Thanks Dave Colin
Found the other options looks like it does everything I need.
Now know where I'm going with my boxing and building while waiting for the RFE
Many thanks again for this feature

Re: PD4 and Lime RFE question to GKQ
While waiting for the FRE board to arrive I'm trying to plan the layout of other items to be boxed.
As usual no matter what size box you get its never big enough hi hi.
Does Anyone know the dimensions of the Lime RFE ?
My search has come up blank searching on the internet.
Thanks

Re: PD4 and Lime RFE question to GKQ
The RFE is approximately 180 x 150 x 50 mm.
That includes the Perspex panels. The PCB itself is slightly smaller at about 165 x 130.
