Portsdown 4: Airspy BandViewer, EagleEye USB Camera

Post by G8GKQ » Thu Apr 07, 2022 6:55 pm

I have just released an update for the Portsdown 4 (202203291) that adds 3 major features:
  • If you select BandViewer with an Airspy R2 connected, it will use the Airspy R2, rather than the LimeSDR receiver.
  • The Polycom EagleEye Mini USB Camera is supported as a webcam in H264 modes.
  • On initial selection of receive, the touch overlay map is displayed while waiting for the tuner to start up.
There are some limitations with the Airspy BandViewer. It sometimes crashes (back to Portsdown) when span width is changed. When reselected, it comes up in the desired span width. 10 MHz and 2 MHz span widths show significant drop-off at the edges of the scan. Only the Airspy R2 is supported; NO OTHER VERSIONS OF AIRSPY.

When the Polycom EagleEye is used, a standard audio dongle must be connected (the camera has no microphone and I have not enabled the no-audio transmission mode).

Please post any reports of bugs or suggested improvements here.
