I seem to have upset Portsdown4.

I select the DVB-S/S2 menu, an SR and frequency and click RECEIVE. Portsdown locks OK, but VLC only runs for 1s or immediately crashes and the receiver menu comes back. OMX Player does the same, but on repeat tries sometimes works for a few seconds and then crashes or works for a lot of seconds and then crashes. Play to UDP Stream works fine.

I tried upgrading from 2021 08 162 to 2021 09 051. The upgrade seemed to go fine, but I got the same results.

Any ideas?

It had all been working beautifully including the new soft volume control!

I would suggest a Factory Reset (Menu 3, System Config, Restore Factory). You'll need to reset your callsign and any other customisations afterwards, but it is the most likely thing to cure your problem.

Ah, I thought I had only composed that as a draft and not posted it.

Thanks for the suggestion Dave. I'll bear it in mind.

I went round all the DC connections and made sure they were good and then the problem went away.

It was a classic case of working when the covers were off, but not when they were on. I must have disturbed something.
