I wish I could help more, other than to suggest reading this web page (which has been updated since I last visited).
https://wiki.analog.com/university/tool ... s/firmware

During the Summer of 2022 I tried to document the best way. I tried Windows, MacOS, and Linux on a Raspberry Pi. There were many attempts, but the process was frustrating and I became confused. The documents I did write were all over the place, but when I need to do this again, I will definatley choose the Linux/Raspberry Pi method.

Basically, I'll do the whole thing with the Pluto connected to a Raspberry Pi USB socket and follow the Network section from the link above. I think downloading the firmware directly on to the Pluto using wget is much less of a dance. Good luck.

Good Morning,
My problems start with the line, Type CODE:SELECT ALL.
I assume this is in CMD or is it CMD admin but however I enter the directory address it gets kicked out.
I should like an example of how that part is entered.
Does that make any sense ?
Regards
John

Hi John

Not sure where you are looking, but the words "CODE:SELECT ALL" are generally on buttons and links that when clicked select the text that you need to put at the command prompt. You can then copy it and paste it in.

They are not words to be typed at the command prompt.

Hi Dave, Thus proving my lack of knowledge!!!
How do I make these words appear? I`m assuming that this whole process is carried out via cmd ?
I`m trying to follow G8GTZ forum article.

Hi John

Taking the first example in G8GTZ's post at the top of this topic, if you click on "SELECT ALL", the text "update.bat pluto.dfu" should become highlighted. You then press Ctrl and C together to copy the text to the computer clipboard.

Then, in the windows command window (which you should have opened in the directory where the unzipped firmware file and the UPDAT.BAT file have been saved), simple right click (which pastes) and the text should appear. Then press enter to make it execute.

Hope that explains how to deal with it.

Hi Dave,
I had no idea, I assumed that was an example not the actual program>
On my desk are two windows machines, I have been reading the left hand screen and following what I thought were instructions......
When I was a school boy a long time ago my science master told us to write our reports as if to the man in the moon who has no prior knowledge!!!!

Hi John,

That is a quirk of this forum software which added the function / words "select all"!

Another version that does not add the extra words is on the BATC wiki here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Adalm_Pluto

And yes as stated all these commands are entered at the command line.
Open up a command line (type cmd on the windows search bar)
Hope you sort it - if not, let us know and we'll try to help.

Good morning all,
I have at last, with the help of members have a living Pluto.
It is reachable via NETWORK but I cannot see it via USB, it does not show up on Window desktop.
I can SSH into it and also see the AD page via its IP address.
The .2.1 address does not work.
Has anyone a solution to this as I can`t see how to update firmware.
Regards

Have you installed the drivers for the USB ethernet? It won't work without them.
