i have tried this

Next step reinstalling the driver for the OLD version according to the instructions WaveShare.

git clone https://github.com/waveshare/LCD-show.git
cd LCD-show/
sudo ./LCD35B-show-V2

the colour is right but fonts too big

There are only 2 displays supported for the Portsdown 2020: The WaveShare 3.5 inch Model A and the Official Raspberry Pi 7 inch. As stated here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Portsdown2019_ ... ouchScreen

The original WaveShare 3.5 inch Model B only worked because someone gave me full details of the modifications to make it work and I was able to incorporate them. If you were to do the same with the updated WaveShare B, I could incorporate the new display in the Menu. Otherwise, I suggest that you buy the correct display.

Sorry
