Portsdown at 4000 kS.

Dave,
I notice in the Pluto Wiki you mention that you have seen Portsdown 4 working at 1000 kS.
Thought you'd like to know that in Melbourne several stations are using it into the local repeater without any problems at 4000 kS.

Hi Bob.

I just got mine fired up yesterday. Portsdown4 and Pluto. A lot of learning in from of me yet!!

I can get mine sending the image of the portsdown touchscreen at 4000 KS. Using 1255 Mhz across the room.

I could only get DVB-S to work at 4000 KS. I can make DVB-S2 work at 2000 KS with QPSK. Have you had any success with DVB-S2 above 2000 KS? I note my transmissions were of a static image of my touch screen, no fast moving images.

thanks

Simon

As mentioned here https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Portsdown_4_Pluto the Portsdown is only tested with Pluto up to 1000 kS. The whole design is optimised for low symbol rates, not the higher SRs that you are using. For those, the optimum configuration is to use a LimeSDR Mini in LimeDVB mode.

Hi Simon,
Mine is the same as yours in that it only works at 4000 ks with DVB-S and is just a lucky that is useful to us with VK3RPTV .
Dave's explanation is a far more detailed and accurate explanation than I could give as to the bigger picture.
Regards,
Bob.
