Portsdown Pluto DVB-T OK but no DVB-S2
Re: Portsdown Pluto DVB-T OK but no DVB-S2
Hi Dave, Mike and Gareth
That worked! loaded the correct firmware this time and it now works properly.
Many thanks for all your time and trouble and I will steer clear of software and go back to building things in future!
I bet I'll be back though - bound to make another blunder!
I might build a knucker now!

Jim could you at least try to plug it into a PC and open up the web browser so we can tell what firmware it has loaded and what the parameters might be? Just type HTTP://192.168.2.1 into the web browser. That's all you need to do. It would make it a lot easier to diagnose the issue.g7ntg wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 12:26 pmHi Mike
I plug the pluto straight into my portsdown 4 and with the settings DVB-T, H264, output to Pluto,4;3, pi cam, 1255MHZ , 333, 2/3,pluto pwr 0 , I get a nice vertical sided flat top spectrum and output power is -11dBm.
When I change the settings to S2PSK and everything else the same , I get no output at all
same no output with DVBS, 8PSK, 16APSK
with DVB-T it works on QPSK, 16QAM, 64QAM,guard1/4, 1/8, 1/8, 1/16 and 1/32 with no problems.
just no DVBS
You will need the IIO drivers installed. https://wiki.analog.com/university/tool ... rs/windows
EDIT - Posts crossed. Glad it is working. You might still want to try looking at it via the browser when plugged into the PC, just don't change anything!

ran info and it now comes up with "Welcome to the ADALM-PLUTO QO-100/DATV custom firmware
and pages of information
all seems good!

Re: Portsdown Pluto DVB-T OK but no DVB-S2
Very good. If you scroll down to the bottom it should tell you what version firmware it has and there is an online manual of sorts.
My method of sending is via a script in a batch file taking the OBS Virtual Camera output and sending it to the Pluto with control via Evariste's latest firmware. Not as integrated as the Portsdown but more things to tweak which is both a plus and a minus at the same time.

Just tried it via the satellite and lip sync with pi cam seems ok.
Re: Portsdown Pluto DVB-T OK but no DVB-S2
I'm not sure if this helps or not. I have a Rev. B Pluto and running the latest Portsdown software:
Configuration Items as follows:
333k 9/10 437MHz
Source: Test Card or PiCam or IPTS from OBS => DVBT and DVBS2 OK
Source : C920 => DVBT => OK DVBS2 => Not OK
My C920 is fairly new, but will NOT work with DVBS/2 (no RF) but ok with DVBT
Not sure if this is expected behavior or not, but I understand Dave is doing work on the C920 versions.
I also cannot get HDMI to work reliably with the LKV, so I suspect data rate from the C920 might be something to do with it.
Justin.

Re: Portsdown Pluto DVB-T OK but no DVB-S2
Hi all,
still can't solve the above mentioned problem, can you please advise me?
I use Portsdown 4 on RPi4 with ADALM Pluto with the following parameters:
- Portsdown ver. - 202304300
- Pluto FW - v0.31-4-g9ceb-dirty
- Pluto HW - Rev.C (D on the PCB)
- Pluto has enabled two CPUs
- Pluto has extended range - AD9364
If I transmit in DVB-T mode, everything is OK. TestCard / Contest numbers/ Pi Cam / Webcam C920 works.
But if I switch to DVB-S2 - only TestCard + Contest nubers works.
I cannot transmit video using cameras (PiCam + C920)
Has anyone solved a similar problem? Do you know how to fix it?
Thanks a lot for the answers
