I have realised this evening that I did not make it clear that IPTS in mode does not yet work with the Pluto on the Portsdown 4.
In the last software update, I made some improvements to IPTS in for the LimeSDR, but I still need to write the code (ffmpeg incantation) to make it work for the Pluto.

IPTS in to the Portdown with Pluto
Re: IPTS in to the Portdown with Pluto
Hi Dave,
Incantation seems an appropriate word as software is very like witchcraft to me! Thanks for all the work.
Take care, stay safe.

...are you sure I can't use a pair of 813's?...

Hi Dave
Thanks for your help last night. One quick question out of the 3 firmware versions for the lime which is the best / correct one to be using?

Re: IPTS in to the Portdown with Pluto
Hi Keith
No problem. The key issue is that Portsdown IPTS in needs the correct transport stream bitrate fed to it, and that bitrate varies between QPSK, 8PSK and 16 APSK. it sounds like you have found the sweet spot for 8PSK, but it will be different for the other 2 constellations. 8PSK is 3 bits per symbol, QPSK is only 2, and 16APSK is 4.
For normal RB-TV and QO-100, FW 1.30 is best (with Lime Mini output mode selected). For higher bandwidths on local terrestrial contacts, DVB FW (with Lime DVB output mode selected) can give better results.
I will delete the 1.29 button when I next visit that area of the software.
