Pi HQ Cam cabling.

Has anyone came up with a cabling solution for having the Pi Cam HQ easily and safely unpluggable and away from the main board on a tripod?
I don't want to go with a long ribbon for many reasons an have yet to find a commercial solution.
Edit: I have thought about making it into a free standing device with it's own RPi and using it as a wifi/ethernet attached source.. any thoughts on this?

There is the HDMI lead solution that we used with the low quality PICAM. Maybe that will work here too?

Hi
I have tested this solution
https://wiki.batc.org.uk/CSI-2_to_HDMI with the Pi HQ Camera and it does work with short good quality HDMI leads.
The solution is not as robust for the HQ Cam as it is when used with the Pi Cam V2; leads of up to 2m work well with that. I found that only one of my 1m leads would work with the HQ Cam. Either different driver electronics or a higher data rate, or both.

Well not an elegant solution maybe an HDMI extender with a repeater/amplifier might overcome the cable length issue.

Hi Andy
A normal HDMI extender will not work. The electrical specification for the interface is CSI-2, not HDMI. It's just that the HDMI cable has the correct number of screened pairs for CSI-2 and is mechanically convenient.
A CSI-2 extender would be interesting...
