Is Calibration Required with 7 inch Touchscreen?

I am looking to simplify the program that runs the touchscreen in the Portsdown 4, and am about to delete all the code that deals with the "touchscreen calibration" that was required for the old 3.5 inch touchscreen (the old screen that is not supported in the Portsdown 4).

Before I do this, has anybody found that calibration is required for the 7 inch touchscreen? I have never needed it on any of the 7 inch screens that I have tested.

I must emphasise that I will continue to support the 3.5 inch touchscreen (with calibration) in the Portsdown Buster 2020 build using the Raspberry Pi 3.
