Portsdown Shut Down Button

Here comes a question to the community: Am using a rpi 3B+ and a 3.5" JOY-IT touch display, which all works fine. Now I wish to connect the
Portsdown shut down button (using rpi pins 13,15, GND) to the devices.

As it looks, the display is also using these pins. -> Can the shut down button arrangement (LED+pushbutton) be connected in parallel to the display?

Thanks for info, 73, Hub

Hi Hub

I very much doubt it. These pins were chosen because they were not used by the recommended Waveshare display. Suggest you stick with using the touchscreen shutdown on Menu 2.

I used an eBay touchscreen and wired up the shutdown button as per the wiki (I think, it was 18 months ago.....). Works fine, with an LED too.
Its a handy option to have if you need a really 'quick as possible' re-boot (like to initialise something else I just plugged in.....)..

Hello,

I had been out on the road therefore the late answer: firstly thanks for your hints, secondly: I checked pin 13 on the Joy-IT Display and it appeared not to be connected. Next I connected a LP LED: is working.
I find it usefull to be able to see when the Raspi halted to safely shut down the power supply.
