Hi Benno

IPTS In for a Portsdown 4 with a USB-connected Pluto does work for both DVB-T and DVB-S/S2. I have just tested it on the Bench.

I know that for DVB-S/S2 it only works for H264, not H265 or MPEG-2. This is because the TS is carried from the Portsdown to the Pluto in an rtmp wrapper and this wrapper is only compatible with H264 encoding.

I haven't tried H265 IPTS In with DVB-T as that is a difficult test for me to set up.

Make sure that the input TS bitrate matches the bitrate that Portsdown 4 with Pluto expects. You can check this on the "Menu 2", "Info" screen. Also make sure that the TS ports and IPs are set correctly in "Menu 3", "TS IP Config".

Hope that helps

Dave

Ok H264 was my pitfall
I am used to work with h265 and was not even looking for h264..

I now can confirm it works in usb pluto with dvbs and dvbt...
Will try networked pluto later but i recon it will work as expected..

Thanks dave and Mike..

I think that explains my failure as well. I was assuming it was sending UDP.

What i do not understand is that the ipts stream is made in the pc with the right hardware. Its transported to the portsdown And than to the Pluto. Rtmp is Just as transport so why should IT not Support h265..I really Hope h265 is somewhere on the wishlist. But for now i,Am Happy.

DVB-T works great with portsdown And Not in pluto.dvb..

Hi Benno

If only it were that simple!

rtmp is a proprietry protocol that only supports MP3 or AAC audio and FLV1 video multimedia streams. See here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real-Time ... g_Protocol

FLV1 video is more commonly known as Flash video. The protocol support is described here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_Video#History

Evariste has some modes in the later versions of his Pluto firmware that are compatible with sending a TS (H264 or H265) directly to the Pluto, but these modes are not compatible with the Portsdown which is designed to be a simple system for beginners and portable operation.

A Portsdown with a LimeSDR does support H265 IPTS in, and this is the system that I use on QO-100.
