Limesdr problem with Portsdown

Post by SM6TLX » Tue Feb 26, 2019 8:12 pm

Don't know if this ended up in the wrong topic.
But I have problems with LimeSdr mini that I bought from Batc shop.
When I have set up "carrier" it works and lime sdr transmit .
But when I choose something else eg. Dvb-S then it transmit for 2 seconds and then it stops transmitting. I've tried everything, but nothing helps.

Hi Hakan

Sorry for the delayed reply - busy times!

I can ask some questions and then make some suggestions, but it is difficult to be sure whether the problem is with your Portsdown hardware or the LimeSDR Mini.
  • Are you using a Powered USB Hub between the RPi and the LimeSDR?
  • Have you tried a different hub and different USB leads?
  • Have you tried the LimeSDR with DATV Express Software on a PC, or with any other transmitting software?
  • Have you looked at the results of the Lime Report on the Lime Config menu in the latest Portsdown software?
  • What transmission mode (all parameters) are you trying (please include a photo of Menu1 on your Portsdown)?
  • What is the firmware and gateware version of your LimeSDR?
Sorry that it is all questions, but I need more information!

Hakan

That all looks good.

Running out of ideas, but please could you try plugging the LimeSDR into the RPi directly (no hub, no cable). Also try 333KS H264 and a Lime Gain of 88.

Hi Dave
I hope it's the right topic, since the concept is the same.
I repeat the query: (post some days ago)
I have rpi3b +, updated with version 201902250 and I am operating with Lime DSR USB.
With modulation in CVB-S, no problem, but when choosing any of the other options S2 ... it is set to TX for 2 or 3 seconds and stops.
I have the Lime that when updating it by menu 5, option 11, tells me that it does not require updating and everything ok.
I am operating from the console because for lack of space I can not install any display / keyboard.
Is it possible that another type of modulation other than CVB-S can not be configured from the console as in previous versions??
Thank you

Hi Dave, OK
Other information:
In the intervals that the modulation disappears, in the conditions that I have described, in the constellation screen,
the 4 points of the QPSK system disappear and gradually 12 points appear, as if it were a 12QPSK modulation
or something similar.
Later and also slowly, the 12 points disappear and the 4 of QPSK appear, recovering
the reception.
They are data that I believe can be useful
