Hi Stephane

OK. There may be a problem. Please can you tell me:

Which software version?

When did you update?

Normal update or Dev update?

Thanks

Dave

Hello,

I've made some tests with New Portsdown Stretch Software Release 201811170 with lime mini. I started with a brand new SD card loaded with last Stretch Lite version. I've updated (in fact downgraded) my Lime mini Fw with provided FW update feature, to be exactly at the version used for Portsdown.

I confirm the sound is Ok with PICAM + H264 (tested during many minutes) with very fine pictures from PICAM !
Got an average MER of 16 to 22dB using freq (437 - 1255) / Modulations of (QPSK - 8PSK - 16APSK - 32APSK) / SR (250 - 333 - 1500)

I have a question regarding Lime mini Firmware : should it be exactly of the version of Postsdown, or can it be even a later version ? So what is the importance of the version ?
Is the sound mono or stereo (think it's stereo) ?

Just made a test also with DATV-Express software and Lime mini
My comparison :
DATV-Express has a very Good MER (36 to 40dB ! on Tutioune) but pictures could be better
Portsdown has very good pictures but MER could be better

73's to all

Stephane

Please run (force) another software update and see if it cures it.

Thanks, Dave

Christian

I think that the latest Lime Mini gateware and firmware is OK to be used, but I haven't done enough testing to say for certain.

The sound from the Easycap is stereo; my USB audio dongle only has a mono microphone, so that sound is probably mono.

I am now working on a release that will improve the MER for Lime Mini and also use the latest LimeSuite and Lime gateware and firmware versions. The release after that will improve the pictures for DATV Express.

Hope that explains

Dave

After the forced update, the problem persists.

No modulation, unless I select "bleeps", but even with this parameter, I have no sound.

Tested with a c525 webcam, and TCAnim.

Stephane

I cannot see anything wrong here, but don't have a C525 Webcam to test with. I have 3 systems, 2 upgrades and 1 new build, and they all seem to be working OK. The new avc2ts does not seem to work so well with webcams, so that could be the problem.

If you disconnect the C525 and reboot does it transmit in test card and tcamim H264 OK?

What happens with the C525 in MPEG-2 modes?

What SR are you using?

Apologies to anyone who has updated this evening. I messed up the configuration control and had not transferred all the new files to the production site. It worked perfectly on the development site!!

If you force a further update now, all should be good.

After previously successfully building cards as per the instructions here:https://github.com/BritishAmateurTelevi ... /portsdown I noticed today that there was a newer Stretch Lite base to build on so I have downloaded it and followed the instructions. However, it doesn't boot my new RPI3B+ OR my RPi3??
So I decided to check my hardware (now all wired up and boxed) using my known good RPi3. Everything seems fine. But the RPi3 won't boot from the new disc image either??
So I'm going to try my known good card from my RPi3 in my new RPI3B+. I'm assuming it should just work (although any MPG2 license won't).
Am I missing something here.....(its been a long day....)
Thanks
Gareth
