I bought one of these https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Raspberry-Pi ... 2749.l2649 to use with a RPiZero W and other than having to focus it (big deal), I'm pleased. It comes WITH the IR leds (not the worlds most powerful but functional) that can be enabled/disabled vis the mentioned control pin or via the normal Pi camera red LED control.
Now the RPI camera works as a video feed, I was wondering if there was a spare GPIO pin to add IR control too. Just in case I operate in the dark
Great SW BTW, impressed by how much is squeezed in, THANKS.
Good camera for Rpi
Re: Good camera for Rpi
Sorry Gareth - we've allocated all the GPIOs. Can I suggest a back panel switch?

Re: Good camera for Rpi
It would need to be an illuminated one Dave Somewhere within the motioneye security camera RPi software (I followed here https://www.raspberrypi-spy.co.uk/2017/ ... tioneyeos/) is buried the ability to turn off the Camera RED LED. It needs a re-boot to make it happen so I presume there is something buried in the camera control SW that can do that. But a switch is the KISS answer at the end of the day....
