Ugly mode possible on other frequencies?

Hi, all

Is the RPi software capable of generating an ugly mode signal on 146 MHz? (Or any other frequency lower than 437 MHz, for the matter).

I'm wondering if it's possible to generate a 125ks ugly morse signal on '2m' for the purposes of a demo with a Minitiouner.

If it's not possible, what is it that imposes the limitation to 437 MHz only?

Hi John

Yes, ugly mode works at 146 MHz. I did some tests a while ago, and it worked up to nearly 900 MHz. Not sure of the lower limit, but I have used it at 146 MHz.

Morse? RPiTX might be better suited to that: https://github.com/F5OEO/rpitx

I am currently rewriting rpitx to handle higher range of frequencies and better precision. Upper limit is now 1.5GHZ, down limit should be around 5Khz.
Hope to have this new version available soon.

Haha - autocorrect strikes again … That should, of course have said 'ugly mode', not 'ugly morse'.

Are there any tricks to getting the ugly mode to work.. ?
I would love 1255 3500 3/4 if posdible, running the later update of stretch.

Cheers
