ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
I have accepted the eBay supplier's offer to send me a new one.
Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
well guys...
I ordered two more boards and I collected them today.
as expected the voltage regulator IC was an AMS 1117 5.0
now I would like to make a claim (I order them via Aliexpress).
did someone already made a claim? GI3VAF?
to be consistent with other claims I would like to know what you have written...
being a retired telecom engineer I can prepare a well detailed claim..but I am afraid they will not understand...hahaha

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
I have just received 2 more ADF4351 boards from eBay supplier "industry_mall". These also have 5 volt regulators.....

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
I have just received some 3.3V regulators and replaced the 5V one. I have not tested it yet, apart from verifying the supply is now 3.3V as intended. What are you planning to do with so many regulator boards?

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
Hi Mike
I have aspirations to make a 35 MHz - 4 GHz scalar network analyser, and I'm also thinking about a pre-mixer for my spectrum analyser so that I can see 5.6 GHz.

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
Hi Dave,
I bought some ADF5355 boards with the idea of doing something similar for 10 GHz.
I have the required wideband couplers and some HPFs to clean the output but I
am now looking for some affordable MMICs. I got some samples for Mini-circuits
but when I got a quote for Duroid PCBs from China I almost fell out of my chair
they were so expensive in small quantities. The 18 GHz MMICs are only a few
quid each in comparison.

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
Hi Dave,
Having played with divide by chips, yes you can read the frequency and see harmonics.
Including those produced by the divide by chip
A few days ago my thoughts were if I can mix 1.300 with 2.108 and get 3.408 then why not reverse and look at 1.5Ghz on Analyser.
May not be perfect but could probably see some sort of DVB-S waveform.
Learn more about mixers and mixing levels etc..

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
If you just want to see the DVB-S waveforms, why not use your Pluto as a spectrum analyser?

Going a tad off topic
Good point Mike, didn't think of that, will see how that works out.
Will still play with filters and mixer to build a stand alone down converter to spectrum analyzer.
Also look at 5.665.
P.S Can Tx on Pluto 3.4Ghz 2Ms to give me a fair signal to build the down converter to analyzer.
As Dave's comment lot's of SDR's here, but need new Pc to run them efficiently...

Re: ADF4351 internal and external voltages.
Charles - have a look at PCB Pool's RF division (RF Pool). I don't know what the Chinese were quoting you, but RF Pool's prices seem to be about 3-4 times what they charge for FR4.
