Connecting Filters etc Looking for Belden Cable

Post by G4uvz » Fri Jan 19, 2018 2:31 pm

Now that the Portsdown is boxed up...I am looking to tidy up the external filters and maybe make the 2M filter dual use ...TX and RX All connectors are SMA. Whilst I have quite a bit of 3.5mm diameter copper jacket cable...this is very inflexible.
Does any one have a source of what I believe is called 3.5mm Belden cable?

Hi Adrian,

I have just got some RG402 semi rigid from a UK supplier on eBay. It is quite expensive at £15 for a metre. RG405 is smaller in diameter. Both are available from Chinese suppliers also, but it’s not sure of its quality. The UK source is Belden 1673A (RG402/u)

Chinese RG402 is good; I've used it on numerous projects with no issues. Solder on connectors are easy to fit too. I also tried the RG405 and found it was really poor; and cracked with the slightest bend.
