HDMI Video Input to the Portsdown

I have found an HDMI Video Capture device that works with the Portsdown transmitter. Don't get too excited, it down-scales any HD input to SD, but would enable you to use an HDMI Camera with the Portsdown for SD Pictures. The picture quality is not perfect, there is some clipping above about 75% video level and the fine detail response is not as good as I had hoped. However, it does seem to accept any format of HDMI that I throw at it, from 576i 50 up to 1080p 50. The audio also works.

It's available on eBay for about £12.50 currently: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HDMI-USB-2-0 ... 2317153060

Technically, it appears to the Portsdown as being identical to a Fushicai analog video capture device, so with the current Portsdown software you'll need to disconnect any analogue video dongle that you have connected. In both linux and windows it uses the same drivers as its analogue counterpart, and has the same "ignition noise"-like anomalies in MPEG-2 and streaming modes on the Portsdown.

I had hoped to get some HD out of the device, but it appears not to be possible.
