I am new to this, and have been trying to get the base bit working - that is the Pi3 and the touchscreen. Had a fair collection of issues with the touchscreen drivers, which I resolved by using the full image on the waveshare wiki, rather than loading the drivers separately, and I post this in case in might help others who are having similar issues. I thought it might be a bit of a mission downloading the .7z file and then creating boot image, but there are lots of utilities (I used Etcher) to help with this. I then wasted a bit of time before I realised the pi camera wasn't activated, but that is now fixed and I am ready for the next stage. 73

Hi Richard
Sorry to have to tell you this, but for the Portsdown Transmitter build, you need to start again. Portsdown does not work if you have the manufacturer's drivers loaded for the touchscreen.
If you simply follow the instructions on GitHub here
https://github.com/BritishAmateurTelevisionClub/rpidatv, the operating system, drivers and application software for the Portsdown Transmitter can easily be loaded. It takes about 8 minutes.

Hi Richard
This page on the wiki describes the process to get the software installed, you can either buy a card from the BATC shop or follow Dave's github instructions.
