Portsdown GPIO breakout card

Post by g8gtz » Mon Feb 06, 2017 9:20 am

In the Portsdown unit, there are 13 signals that need to be routed in or out of the GPIO interface on the RPi and the GPIO breakout card must break out all 40 pins of the GPIO, and have another connector on top for the LCD display.

As previewed on the KLB show on February 5th the Portsdown team have designed a PCB for the job which be available from the BATC shop from Mid February. Whilst the break out card from Willow can still be used, we recommend you use this card and put the Willow card in your junk box - it did cost less than a fiver.

The BATC card is very simple to construct with no components other than plugs and sockets. All details including schematic are available on the wiki https://wiki.batc.tv/Portsdown_hardware ... ender_Card

Good idea - though I have a breakout board - but why not add the LED resistor? Perhaps a few debug LEDs - after all a project isn't really a project without flashing LEDs

The Adafruit stacking header is available also at The Pi Hut in the UK.

Of course you do and no, it didn't.. However, I wish you' said this last week.. but it's too late now and my junk box is very small...

(Our bin only needs emptying once a month.. (and nothing burnable leaves the house..) . This is Yorkshire after all).

As someone who was born in Hebden Bridge (by heck) I do appreciate the sentiments but there's only such so much we can do at once!
