Communication with the Pi, #2
Hi Guys
I might be expecting too much here, I have loaded the software and set it up via Eth0 then set the Wifi in the Portsdown system menu, everything appears to be OK..
But now, I can't communicate with the Pi over WiFi, either by Windows remote or by PuTTY.. The Pi is connected to the WiFi network with the DHCP reserved address (From the Router/switch) and I can ping it from the PC (and get a resonse)..
I can still log in via cable using PuTTY (but not Windows), just not over WiFi.
Perhaps I set something wrong somewhere... where should I look next?

Re: Communication with the Pi, #2
When I look in the "System Settings" - "IP Address"
It has both the LAN and the WiFi IP addresses listed (correctly).

Hi Graham
I've just tried this, but been unable to reproduce the fault. I did change some networking settings in the latest version (201701230).
If you are not on this version (see System setup, Update), please perform the update and reboot (important). Then try again and let me know.
If you are already on this version, please could you try logging in from another device on your network?
Thanks, Dave G8GKQ

Hi Dave
I only downloaded and set up the card (again) last weekend so should be the latest version.. But I will check and/or update/upgrade as necessary tomorrow.
However, I connected up another PC and checked access to the Pi again, and it logged in perfectly from that one.. Grrr..
Bleedin computers eh?
I can still ping the Pi exactly the same from there but PuTTY connects and works OK from the other PC, so, sorry for pestering you.
But I'm still none the wiser why that should be, this PC is Win 10 and the other is Win 7, whether that's the difference or not I dunno, I'll have a closer look tomorrow..

Hi
Pleased that you have sorted it -at least on one computer. Could you have accidentally rejected the Putty SSH security certificate on the other one?
I issued an update on Monday, but it was only for minor things that won't affect this problem.

Re: Communication with the Pi, #2
I don't think I declined the cert, especially when all instructions say to accept it.
I have had a look through the Certificates (Current_User) but can't see any that stand out as being from a Pi or PuTTY.. Any ideas what the Certificate name might be?
I have removed the only one that was in "Untrusted Certificates" it had no name and had no benefit on the problem either.
No worries, oh actually I suppose I might access it from here by using MSTSC to the other PC then PuTTY from that desktop.. long winded but should work.
