I did the update fine but had to use the big shutdown button as I lost touch screen control, Dave.
My Portsdown started fine today - the next time I switched it on. Great relief. So I tried the screen calibration for the first time. It worked fine. Software screen button shutdown to finish. :D
No reverse SMA connectors were involved at any time ;)

I've some band switching wiring issues to repair as only two band LED's illuminate. I repaired broken wires, restored Tx switching and I think I swapped two others by mistake.

New Software Release

I've just issued a new release 201802041 - The "Portsdown 2018" Update. This is a Major update that includes the following features:

Major touchscreen menu re-write
Introduces new gui sub-menus for parameter and config selection
Introduces attenuator and transverter switching
Introduces stored preset configurations
Initialises spi GPIO ports on GUI start-up
Corrects ADF4351 and Attenuator spi timing to improve reliability
Corrects FileTS failure to cease transmitting
Adds partial support (Video only) for Logitech C525 and C270 Webcams

Loaded and working. Excellent to see new Menu design. Also food to see additional support for Webcams. Was hoping you might be able to support the Logitech C920 given it has an H264 output.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the report.

If you or someone else could lend me a C920 for a few weeks I could see if it is possible to get it working. Difficult to achieve without the hardware to test!

My C920 had worked well on the previous software version; I had used it in MPEG mode for streaming and local 23cm DATV.

Alas there seems to be no sound now; have you tried yours Mike?

Could be I have a software issue which occurred during upgrade.

Steve/Mike

I think I know what change might have broken your audio. Please could you try running the linux command

Code: Select all

arecord -l
with the C920 connected and let me know the response. I might have a relatively easy fix.

Hi Dave,

This is the response from my Portsdown software.

pi@raspberrypi:~ $ arecord -l
**** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices ****
card 1: C920 [HD Pro Webcam C920], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio]
Subdevices: 1/1
Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

Thanks for your help.

I don't think mine is even recognised. Neither Audio or Video. I may need to do something I am not doing though.

Hi Mike

My C920 worked when Mpeg2 was selected in the previous software version.
Video is still good in the latest version.

Hopefully Dave can find a fix. If not I can post my camera to him.
