Still haven't figured out how to mount the LCD, but to protect the GPIO connector I got a GPIO extender cable - one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141354697688? ... EBIDX%3AIT

Touch Screen
Re: Touch Screen
I have put M2 posts through the holes in the RPi and GPIO Extender, and then adjusted the length so that the LCD rests on the 4 posts. I have put small pieces of sticky rubber on top of the posts to absorb some of the shock.
This arrangement has survived 3 months of daily use while I have been developing and testing software.

Re: Touch Screen
Thanks Dave G8GKQ,
I will start with that approach...it is simple and you have shown the M2 posts work adequately.
M1BKF explained he used a ribbon-cable to allow the LCD to be placed on a flat surface. I am still interested to learn if any other Portsdown users have come up with other approaches for mounting the LCD?

Re: Touch Screen
Hi Ken,
Of course I have the same issue but a couple of us are looking at having a bezel made, using a 3D printer. The bezel would have a lip on 3 sides, to slide the LCD into and there will be 4 post that will extend into the enclosure where we can use hot glue or something like that to keep the LCD from coming out of the enclosure, when turned upside down.
If anyone has already done something like this please post your info here.
Thanks,
Bob
