If you are getting the metadata, then you are getting the TS, so it isn't clear why no picture. Try the Picotuner on the Ryde, see if it works.

Maybe off-frequency? I've sometimes had that show up, data shows but just no picture.

Hi Dave

It sounds like VLC has not installed properly on the Portsdown. Do you have another Portsdown (or SD Card) that you could try?

If not, try a rebuild, or you could uninstall and reinstall VLC from the command line:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get -y remove vlc
sudo apt-get -y install vlc

Hi Mike,
I have put the Pico in to the Ryde and it takes a picture from both my PD4 and PD2020 although it struggled a bit with the PD4. It does not take a picture from the PD2020 when connected to my PD4, if that makes sense!!!

Dave, I have uninstalled the VLC and reinstalled without success, would you suggest a card rebuild? or should I break it all down and rebuild the system?

Gareth, It does not appear to be off frequency...

Thanks for all your help

I have just got round to reading this as have been off island.

This sounds very much like the issue that I had and you may have tried this already.
I found that I needed to carry out an auto LNB offset using the portsdown 4 option as my LNB offset was too far off. Doing this cured my issue.

Hope this may help

Hi Keith,
thanks for your reply.

I have looked for what you recommend to do but cannot find it.
Can you let me know where to look?

Hi Dave,

On portsdown 4 select rx menu then enter config, you will find the auto calibrate lnb and other options.

Dave

I would suggest a card rebuild. If you are getting a valid MER then LNB offset is not the problem.

I know that you are not trying it, but note that the Portsdown 2020 receiver does not yet support PicoTuner.

Hi Brian, Keith,

the LNB auto calibrate is not showing!!!!

Dave, I have rebuilt the card and the LNB calibrate has appeared.. Did a test TX to my PD4 Pico tuner combination, but still no picture. Also the LNB auto calibrate has disappeared.

Just to recap..PD4 is TXing, taking pictures on my Ryde. PD4 will not take a picture from my PD2020. The PD2020 is TXing as the Ryde will take a picture. I think I will do another card rebuild with a different SD card, see if that will solve it

Dave

Two immediate comments.

There is no auto-calibrate in Terrestrial which you have selected. If you select QO-100 it will appear.

You have a low voltage warning (the lightning bolt). Please check the voltage between pins 4 and 6 on the GPIO. It should be at least 4.9 v. This could be the cause of some of your problems - especially if the voltage is low during card build.
