The information that I found on the totally unrelated forum worked perfectly on both transmit and receive.. I have removed the cheapo dongle and working entirely through the UMC204HD card.. therefore it appears that any compliant device should be usable for this project.

Now I just have to get the sound input/output selected correctly for the ATV transceiver.. What files do I need to edit for DATV and where are they hiding?

All but the input audio for DATV is working.. Langstone transmit and receive audio, RTL receive audio, and Portsdown Streamer Viewer audio are all working.
The only issue I am still having is getting audio into the Portsdown streamer or transmitter from "USB Mic" input. I have yet to determine if this is a matter of determining which mic input to set is default or something else. I do know that the gain on Mic 1 input always drops to zero every time the system restarts but there is also nothing coming in on it after I adjust that it alsamixer.
