SOLVED.
When I went to re-get the original batch file I found that the network connection was down. The machine is only used for vMix so I'd not noticed the lack of network.
Now that is working the system is up and running again.
It would seem that my laptop may not be man enough for 2000Ks really as it loses more packets than it sends.
