Hi Dave

Where exactly did you buy the regulators? I still think you have a short on the 3.3V digital line. Hence the request for a high res photo of both sides of the PCB. There is probably nothing wrong with the 1.1V regulator, it is supplied by the 3.3V regulator so won't work until then.

I am assuming you have not over-volted the regulators, say with the wrong resistors on the switching supply, nor reverse biased them. Also that the tab really is soldered properly and not just sitting there on a film of flux.

On Three, no, sorry. Many of Three's IP addresses are in the lists that websites use to block spam, specifically spamhaus. It is pot luck if you get allocated one. If you do, you may not be able to send emails, post images, log in to sites etc.

You could either use a VPN or an alternative ISP. I had the same problem using a Three WiFi hot spot. I am sure others do as well.

It is not only Three, EE users are reporting similar issues. The best thing to do is pay for a fixed IP on a reliable ISP. It will cost you more, but will avoid the problems associated with shared IP addresses.

I agree wholeheartedly with Mike. I am with Zen Internet and they offer fixed IP addresses, which I have always had, having one avoids a lot of these sorts of issues. Zen have been superb over the last probably twenty years, I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

Well worth the bit extra they charge over the bargain basement ISP's. They have enough clout to chivvy along Open Reach when they are summoned to correct a line issue, and their technical support is prompt and accurate.

Hi Brian, Mike,
I have fitted the spare U4 and have the following result
U4
p1 3.2v
P2 4.8v
P4 3.2v
P5 0v

U5
P1 3.3v
P2 3.2v
P4 1.1v
P5 0v

U6
P1 3.2v
P2 4.8v
P4 3.2v
P5 0v

TP4 3.2v
TP5 1.1V
TP6 3.2v
all readings are with the Pico fitted

Mike, the parts are from Digikey.
I've attached front and back photos as requested.

Thanks for the Internet info, still got a few months contract with three, will just have to reboot and hope I get a good IP for a while

Regards
Dave

Hi Dave,

The TP volts look ok, I suggest you test it now on ext 12v input, remember to move link and test lnb volts, if all ok fit the nim and test with opentuner 0b or portsdown 4, hope it all goes Ok.

Hi Dave

That looks correct. That original regulator must have been faulty. That's unusual for Digikey.

Are you actually sending a picture? Test card is a good one to start with. Note, if you get all the metadata from the tuner but no transport stream, it may be several things causing that, but in this case you do have a TS as it knows the callsign, image and audio formats. Therefore I think the most likely cause is that you are not sending an image, or there is a problem with the format being sent not being compatible with the Portsdown receiver selected.

The signal level is very low, but the MER seems good enough. I did notice it is DVB-S and not DVB-S2, but that should not be a show stopper, it would not have locked if it were.

Hi Mike, Brian,

yes I'm sending a testcard, picking it up on my ryde. I'll set the pico tuner up on my pc and see if i can take a picture.
I have tried both DVB-S and DVB-S2 with it attached to my PD4 . I am plowing through the forum at the moment for
any clues as I seem to remember seeing a thread in this before.
