Joe, The PD4 embodies the receive capability of the Ryde, but all selectable from the touchscreen, i.e. frequency, mode and SR. You just plug a Mini-Tiouner or PicoTuner or Knucker (for DVB-T) into a spare USB and it will receive.
The Ryde was designed as a DATV 'Set top box' equivalent so no need to connect it to a PD4. Does that help?

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to that Joe. The PD4 developer (who is on holiday away from email) has always said that the support is ONLY for the RPI 7" touchscreen and the DF Robot 5" screen (I have both and they work well). I'd try plugging in a HDMI screen at the same time as the touch-screen and see what happens. Don't do it live (powered up) as I have found its possible to kill the RPI HDMI port by 'hot-swapping' monitors.
You might loose the touchscreen function but you could perhaps still use web control....possibly. Give it a try and report back :-)

You can put the Portsdown 4 onto a HDMI monitor but not while the 7inch screen is connected.
Start with a RPi 4 and put the SD card with Portsdown 4 software into it. Connect with remote control from a windows computer. The Portsdown screen will appear on the Windows computer. Use Putty to setup the Portsdown for HDMI output (I think that is how I did it). The HDMI monitor will show the Portsdown screen but it is still 800 * 480. Control the Portsdown 4 by the Windows computer.
This is only a brief explaination but it shows how it can be done. The main of this for me is to provide demonstrations of the Portsdown 4 output to others eg. showing the bandviewer output via a video mixer to my transmission over the local repeater.
It is also a way to work with Portsdown 4 when no 7 inch touch screen is available.

Hi Joe

I don't think it will show on the display, also despite it being the same model, there are several types of easycap, some don't work. A bit odd that it works as a pi camera and not a video source. Make sure you are putting a signal into it it can understand. I assume you are if you are seeing something.

See viewtopic.php?t=7246 and viewtopic.php?f=103&t=8645 and https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Portsdown_hard ... ure_Device

Also, make sure you have the audio set correctly as that can give issues too and be patient. It can take a while to start.

Joe, you could just transmit from your laptop as you are running OBS. You need to have your Pluto on your network (you have to find out how to do that) then stream from your OBS to it.
Here is a clue to that (this is from my network)

That's the stream in option to a pluto - I thought we were talking about the Portsdown 4. You can stream in to the Protsdown. This is the IPTSin - here is an old quite long thread on the topic viewtopic.php?t=6118
