Re: PD4 RTL-FM Audio?
Hi Terry,
I have just tested and can confirm that I do have audio. Tested WBFM and NBFM.
I am also using PD4 version 202303290, RTL820t2, the white USB audio dongle.
In Menu 3, Audio out button, have you selected usb dongle and not the RPi output jack?
Wolfgang.

Re: PD4 RTL-FM Audio?
Hi Terry,
please disregard my comment about selecting the USB Audio dongle.
If a USB audio dongle is connected, the audio output is from the USB Dongle (this allows continued DATV transmissions without a reboot). If no USB Audio dongle is detected, the audio output is from the RPi 3.5mm jack. In this case, the RPi needs rebooting before it can transmit.
I did not have to change squelch or gain settings, all working well.
Wolfgang.

Re: PD4 RTL-FM Audio?
Thanks for confirming Wolfgang.
RTL band viewer is not working for me also.
I checked the RTL on sdr++ and its ok there.
So I'm stuck for now. forcing an update didn't work.
changing usb socket the same
Unfortunately I cant find another RTL to try.

There are many different types of RTL dongle. Not all of them work.

Hi Terry,
if you are not getting the 'No RTL-SDR Connected' error on both RTL-FM receiver and RTL-Bandviewer
then the software has at least detected that there is an RTL Dongle connected.
I have been doing some testing and have found that one of my Noo Elec Dongle Aerial connectors is faulty causing
reception to fail, noise only out of the speaker.
I have tested my SDR Dongles / RX with following results:
- NooElec dongle with R820T2 chipset,
- Two DVB-T+DAB+FM dongles with R820T chipsets,
- Dongle with E4000 chipset,
- RTL.SDR UV HF SDR with R820T2 chipset,
All working with P4 RTL-FM Receiver and RTL Bandviewer.
My old Noxon DAB Stick does not work. (Not Detected). As Mike G0MJW wrote, not all RTL Dongles may work.

Re: PD4 RTL-FM Audio?
Thanks for the comments Mike and Wolfgang
I should of said in my first post that the RTL I'm using is installed in the Portsdown a long time and did work on band viewer and RTL-FM.
Its a DVB-T+FM+DAB dongles with R820T2
I've done two updates since last used and wanted to confirm it wasn't a bug which Wolfgang confirmed.
After lots of plugging and unplugging of usb devices its decided to work on rtl-fm but band viewer gives a black screen and hangs.
I've decided to buy a new RTL, so Wolfgang your list of working devices is very useful to help me choose. Thankyou for testing them all.
I'm happy to Have RTL-FM back as I use it often.
Not working on RTL band viewer is not an issue as I have Lime / Pluto and Meteor view working.
