Portsdown & RTSP

Post by g7kpm » Tue Nov 22, 2022 8:58 pm

Hi, is it possible to use the Portsdown to receive an RTSP stream from a camera to stream to the BATC? I have had a look around the forum, but haven't been able to find any info. Using the Buster build,

Thanks, Jason G7KPM

Hi Jason

Not currently. RTSP is one of the options that I am looking at to enable HDMI input from a LinkPi, but I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks for the reply Dave,

We have a new feathered resident in our bird box and I was going to stream it, but it's an IP camera which supports RTSP & ONVIF.

I have a similar requirement for something like this.

In my use case I want to set up a remote RF receiver for GB3JV; when a signal is received an RTMP stream starts to the GB3JV stream receiver. It would be fantastic if this "repeater" function could be achieved with just a single Pi, but a back-2-back arrangement with two Pis is would be OK too.

This function would save having to resort to using an HDMI dongle.

Justin.
