Pi camera connection orientation, with HDMI extender cable

Post by g0nzo » Sat Jan 23, 2021 11:54 pm

I have some of these Pi cam to HDMI adaptor boards, to allow you to extend the ribbon cable using an HDMI lead.

Does anyone have any pictures (or links to) showing the orientation of the Pi and camera ribbon cables, to these extender boards?

Hi Jules

There are some photos of the extender boards here: https://wiki.batc.org.uk/CSI-2_to_HDMI.

On the Raspberry Pi 4, the connecting side of the cable goes towards the HDMI sockets with the insulated side towards the USB sockets.

I think I have the orientation of the fexi's correct now. (Thanks Dave.)

Can't get it to talk, even after doing the mods that were linked.
Suspecting the HDMI cables I have are not compatible.
Anyone recommend a known good brand/type?

Cheers
Jules
