Re: Portsdown repeater streaming
Hi Mark
My apologies, I did not think that there was any big problem with crackling/burbling audio UNTIL TODAY. I had a new batch of EasyCaps delivered for the BATC Shop and was testing one out of the batch before putting them on sale. Sure enough, there was continuous background crackling on the stream.
I had not noticed this before when I had my own EasyCap directly plugged into the RPi, but for my test today I was using the supplied (very thin) USB extension lead. Sure enough, when I plugged the new EasyCap directly into the RPi, there was hardly any background noise on the audio. Please could you try this (or at least try a high quality USB Extension lead)?
When I get some time, I'll also do some more investigations into noise and voltage drop to see if we can pinpoint the exact cause. I'll dig out a powered USB hub as well and try that.

Hi Dave I have the Easycap plugged directly into the Pi no extension lead.

Hi Mark
Turns out there are 2 forms of audio interference. One caused by poor USB leads, that I found for the first time the other day.
The second is what you have on TN. Occasional crackles. No idea at the moment, so more work to do!
