Gibertini 1.25m dishes

Post by M5TXJ » Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:12 am

Hi all,

For info, Tony Hiscox who supplies the Gibertini dishes is stopping supplying them, he currently only has 6 left, if you want one I suggest you contact him asap. He's doing a delivery run tomorrow if you decide quickly, next run will be September.

Got the new dish installed this morning, in the rain. Got to say I'm very pleased and these Gibertini dishes live up to their reputation. Beacon MER has gone up from 6.8-7 with my no name 1m dish to 10.4, peaking 10.5 now.

Just called Tony of Hisat and he still has a couple of these left.

I want one but waiting till someone else from the South East orders one to save on delivery charge.

From others they sound great for QO100

I bought one from him a couple of years ago and am pleased with it.

If you want it in top notch condition I would recommend anything
other than receiving it by post....

The first face which arrived was severely bent by the courier.
The replacement/second appeared to be true and damage-free but
the packaging had taken a lot of damage. The couriers are clearly
incompetent.

Got my Dish from Tony @HiSat
It needed a larger dia pole for fixing (< 55mm) so once that was sortedsetting up commenced.

ried to be lazy and just use the Winter Hill to set it up but gave up and used the SDR to find the sat and then peaked it using the Winter Hill.

Its peaking @10.8 on the beacon (which seemsto be broken) but what a difference.

Highly reccomended.

I'm using a 3D printed offset mount I bought from G0MJW at CAT21, works a treat.
