Well, I finally scraped together all the bits I've been collecting for ages and put them all in a row.
Managed to get my first TV signals through eshail.

I did put some lower rate signals through last week, but they were far too weak for me to receive on my 60cm dish. Though a couple of other stations were just able to decode them.
But a bit of extra gain in the drive and I was getting comforatable 1M sym DVBS2 signals through, and almost at the same level as the beacon.
If I had a better RX dish set up, I reckon I could have got 2M sym to go.

I really have no idea what my power levels are? I'd guess 10watts ish?

Next stop, 8M sym? Can we ask the beacon to qsy?

Congratulations. Let me know when you are on next.

I rarely need more than 10W, typically 5W for 333ks QPSK, 10W for 8 PSK. 20w is good for 2 Ms QPSK 1/2 FEC. So with your dish, theoretically 2 dB better but in practice a bit less, so you are probably running 10-20W at the moment.

The 3M dish was rated for Ku band, it won't be great I suspect but it might be better than the 60cm with a dual band feed. Yonu could always consider placing a more accurate dish in the centre of it if you have one. Best price/performance seems to be about 1.2m. After that it's diminishing returns on RX. Of course the more gain on TX the better.
