Heath Robinson (Mark 2) approach to get those few more dBs

Post by g8lce » Tue Sep 03, 2019 1:45 pm

Since the first time I posted about his I have had time to redo the extra mesh around the outside of the cheap 1.1mtr dish and take a few screen shots.
I have included the beacon RX in both cases. The TX was 250ks at 10497750kHz
First set without mesh extension.

Now with the mesh extention extending most of the dish to 1.5Mtr although this will make most difference at 2.4GHz.

And now the difference it made. Even the RX was better!

To see the two other screen shots I would have to post another subject but RX of the beacon was upto MER 6.9dB and my own signal was 2.3dB D1 which for my 15 - 20 watts was nice.
